PALS Protocol: Asystole

1.  Check two leads and pulse
2.  CPR
3.  Intubate/Hyperventilate
4.  IV/IO Access
5.  Epinephrine 0.01 mg/kg of 1:10,000 IV/IO (or 0.1 mg/kg ET of 1:1000)
6.  Repeat Epinephrine dose 0.1 mg/kg of 1:10,000 IV/IO (repeat q3-5 minutes)
7.  If metabolic acidosis (present even with good ventilation) 1-2 mEq/kg bicarbonate

After rhythm is restored, if BP remains low
1.  Hypovolemia:  20 cc/kg IV fluid
2.  Normovolemia:  Dopamine drip at 10 mcg/kg/minute
