Excessive protein intakes can cause metabolic acidosis, hyperammonemia,
lethargy, and cholestasis |

If trends reflect increasing bilirubin, creatinine, ammonia or acidosis
with increasing parenteral protein, consider decreasing protein to previously
tolerated amount. |
