Effect on DNA At relatively low concentrations, condenses DNA [Kapuscinski, 1985].  DNA unwinding angle reported as 17.5o by Lown [Lown, 1985], and 26.5o by Kapuscinski [Kapuscinski, 1981]
Preparation and Use Isobestic point 682 nm with extinction coefficient of 8.36 x 103 cm-1M-1 [Kapuscinski, 1985].  5 mM stock prepared in DMSO.  Dry powder should be stored at room temperature and not frozen.  Navy blue crystals and solution.
